Light and Simple Meal Ideas - Tuesday
Breakfast
- 1/2 cup granola cereal topped with 1/2 cup berries and 1/2 cup vanilla yogourt (<2% M.F.)
- 1 slice toasted Country Harvest Twelve Grain bread
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- Water, tea or coffee
Morning Snack
- 1 small low-fat oatmeal muffin
- 1/2 cup milk (<2% M.F.)
Lunch
- Egg salad bagel - 1 chopped hard-boiled egg, 2 tsp calorie-reduced mayonnaise, 1 tbsp chopped celery, 1 tsp chopped green onions, 2 oz grated cheese (<20% M.F.), pepper, alfalfa sprouts and Country Harvest Whole Wheat bagel
- Sunny salad - 1 cup spinach with clementines, bean sprouts, green grapes, shallots and dressing (1 tsp orange juice, 2 tsp olive oil, 1 tsp light soy sauce and garlic)
- 1 cup watermelon
Afternoon Snack
- 1/2 cup seasonal fruit salad
- 2 small fig cookies
Dinner
- 1/2 cup vegetable juice
- Grilled chicken sandwich - 2 slices Country Harvest Oat Bran bread, 1 tsp calorie-reduced mayonnaise, 1 tsp Dijon mustard, 3 oz grilled chicken breast, 1/3 roasted red bell pepper and 1/2 cup spinach
- Apple and Cheddar Salad: mix 1/2 cup light sour cream with 2 tbsp liquid honey and 1 tsp lemon juice. Pour over 2 cups diced red apples, 6 oz chopped light cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup diced celery, 1/4 cup walnut pieces and lettuce
- Water, tea or herbal tea
