Ingredients
8 slices Bread | |
¼ cup (60ml) margarine or butter, softened | |
4 teaspoons (20ml) mayonnaise or salad dressing | |
4 thin slices provolone cheese, or cheddar cheese optional | |
½ of a small pear or apple, thinly sliced | |
4 slices cooked ham or prosciutto | |
2 tablespoons (30ml) mango chutney, chopped |
How to make
1. | Heat a large skillet over medium-low heat. |
2. | Spread one side of each Country Harvest™ Whole Grain & Protein Bread slice with margarine or butter. |
3. | Place four bread slices, buttered sides down on the skillet. Spread mayonnaise on the four slices of bread. Top with provolone cheese. Top with slices of pear or apple. Top all four bread slices with ham or prosciutto. |
4. | Spread the unbuttered sides of four remaining bread slices with chutney. Place chutney spread bread slices on the ham or prosciutto topped bread in the skillet, buttered sides up. |
5. | Cook sandwiches over medium heat for 4 minutes on each side or until bread is evenly toasted and cheese is melted. |
6. | Optional: serve with sliced pears, apples, pineapple wedges, or grapes, if desired. |
